Kerry LeSaicherre was a simple man with a variety of interests. He had a big heart and enjoyed helping others and spending time with his family and his many friends. He enjoyed working on his camp and fishing off the pier, listening to rock music, watching sunsets, and sunrises. At home, he loved to sit on the porch and visit with friends. He loved the out-of-doors and fed numerous birds and animals. He was a big LSU football and baseball fan and listened to or watched all the games. He was constantly tinkering with and fixing things, his own and for others. And he grew and experimented with vegetables and fruit in his hydroponic garden. Kerry was born and raised in Gonzales and lived nearby in Prairieville. He died on Friday, July 18, at home as he wanted, after a brief stay at Ochsner Hospital. He had an aggressive form of mesothelioma brought about by asbestos exposure in the workplace. Kerry was 68 years old. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held Sunday, July 20, at Ourso Funeral Home in Gonzales, 11 am – 3 pm. Friends and family are invited to celebrate his memory by sharing stories in this informal gathering and by wearing rock ‘n roll t-shirts, jeans, and LSU gear. Kerry enjoyed retirement but had several jobs in his working career. He was a jack of all trades; boiler maker, plant laborer, worked in IT on oil pipelines, did construction, and owned a light construction/handy man small business. Kerry is survived by his daughter Jessica Dieutto (and partner Leo), 5 grandchildren, Avamarie, Blair, Siegan, Emerson, and Gannon; his sisters, Kathy LeSaicherre Conerly (Brent), Donna LeSaicherre Jones (Tim), and Danette LeSaicherre Daigle (and partner Mike), along with several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; and numerous other “brothers and sisters by different mothers”. His family would like to thank the incredible staff at Ochsner’s, especially Drs. Perone, Patel, and Johnson.
