Kevin Anthony Shillings

Kevin Anthony Shillings, a resident of St. Amant, passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2015, at the age of 58. Kevin graduated from East Ascension High School in 1975, where he was a 3-sport letterman. He later attended Northeastern on a football scholarship and also attended Southeastern. He was a life-long Houston Astros fan (win it this year) and any Ascension Parish athletic event. He was known as the voice of Ascension Parish sports. Kevin was a former Ascension Parish Game of the Week Announcer and the host of Sports Scene Live. He was a great father and was most proud of his two boys. Kevin is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Becky Brannagan Shillings; sons, Alex Shillings and wife Brandy, and Kam Shillings; father, Ferrell Shillings; sister, Deirdre Shillings Loupe; sisters-in-law, Terri Brannagan Harris, Sharon Brannagan Girouard, Kim Barrileaux Brannagan, Katie Brannagan Hebert, Karen Cook Dempsey, and Christy Cook Perry; brothers-in-law, Joe Harris, Dane Girouard, Patrick Brannagan, Shawn Brannagan, Butch Hebert, Jimmy Villar, and Warren Thomassie; nieces and nephews, Nikki Girouard Babin and husband Thor, Jaci Girouard LeGaux and husband Ray, Stevi Girouard, Morgin Petite Lee and husband Robbie, Michelle Brannagan LeSage, Jessie Brannagan, Eryn Brannagan, Jake Brannagan, Abigail Brannagan, Olivia Brannagan, Tyler Hebert, Jacques Hebert, Erika Thomassie Price and husband Justin, Ben Thomassie and Lauren Credeur, Claire Francis Perry; great nieces and nephews, Ryder Babin, Reese Babin, Isabella LeGaux, Gavin LeSage, Kayden Wascom, Paris Price, Hayden Price, Cooper Price and Owen Thomassie. Kevin is preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Alexander Shillings; niece, Emily Brannagan; sister-in-law, Shannon Brannagan, father and mother-in-law, James and Patricia Brannagan; niece Danielle Dempsey; paternal grandparents, William and Julia Shillings; maternal grandparents, James and Marylee Alexander; uncle, Ray Shilling. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 13, 2015, at Ourso Funeral Home of Gonzales from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm. Visitation will resume Wednesday, October 14, 2015, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church from 8:30 am until a prayer service at 10:00 am. Jack Cannon, Mike Peno, Randy LeBlanc, Bob Lemons, Patrick Brannagan, Butch Hebert, Tyler Hebert and Jacques Hebert will serve as pallbearers. Jimmy Villar, Shawn Brannagan, Kevin Denoux, Ben Thomassie, Joe Wiley, and Lyall Boudreaux will serve as honorary pallbearers.
