

Lynn Evans Cifreo, 81 years old, a longtime resident of Ascension Parish, passed away on Sunday, September 7th, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 24th, 1944 and was a proud graduate of Dutchtown High School. Lynn was a devoted wife, mother, incredible “mawmaw”, sister, and friend. Lynn dedicated her life to her family, who were the center of her world—especially her many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her kindness and unmistakable sense of humor brought joy to everyone who knew her. She loved to make people laugh everywhere she went. If you knew Lynn you knew she enjoyed being outside enjoying coffee, company, and tending to her plants and yard. Lynn lived with great spirit and generosity, and her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Lynn is preceded in death by her loving husband; Alcee’ J. Cifreo; her beautiful daughter; Sherri C. Martin; her parents, John Wesley Evans and Lucille Berteau Evans and 6 of her 12 siblings, Jackie Evans, Bufford Evans, Lucy Southall, Adner Evans, Joe Evans and Doris Guedry.
She is survived by her children; Charles “Brent” Cifreo (Thera) and Wendy Cifreo Boudreaux (Dean) and her son-in-law Kevin Martin Sr.; her many loving Grandchildren, Michael Cifreo, Kevin Martin Jr, Korey Martin(Brittnie), Kaine Martin, Jade Boudreaux(Michelle), Christine Boudreaux, Brittany Boudreaux and Meagan Frye; Great-Grandchildren Kyli, Maci, Bentley Cifreo; Lane, Wesley and Victoria Martin; Adrianna Coleman and Eden Boudreaux. She is also survived by her remaining 6 siblings: Ionne Poirrier, Freddie Evans, Byron Evans, Gwen Yoes, Delores Nieves and Randy Evans.
A night wake for Lynn will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2025 at Ourso Funeral Home from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM in the Ourso Chapel. The Visitation will be held on Friday, September 12, 2025, from 10:00 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Prairieville, LA. Pallbearers will be Jade Boudreaux, Kevin Martin Jr, Michael Cifreo, Korey Martin, Kaine Martin, and Wayne Evans.
The family extends special thanks to the compassionate staff at Our Lady of the Lake Emergency Room and TICU Team. Also, Pinnacle Hospice, Ourso Funeral Home and St. John Catholic Church for their loving care and support. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to either St. John Catholic Church or St. Jude Children's Hospital. We will miss you forever, Mom.
