Lynn Fernon Cochran

Our Savior Jesus Christ has destroyed death and brought life and immortality to light through the Gospel. Let us remember with Thanksgiving what God has done through His servant Lynn. Lynn Fernon Cochran was given life by her creator and was born on August 4, 1956, the child of Sidney and Eleanor Fernon. On June 15, 1958, she received the gift of holy baptism and became a child of God. On August 9, 1987, she publicly confessed her faith and was confirmed. She received the precious gift of the Lord’s life-giving body and blood. On November 19, 1993, she received the gift of a beloved companion and her spouse, Shannon. She was blessed with the gift of children and grandchildren. Lynn is survived by her husband Shannon, daughters Wendy and her husband Jeff, Lisa and her husband Rory, Kerri Marchand and her husband Brennan, Cheri Garon and her husband Brian, son EJ and his wife Jennifer, grandchildren Jacob, Juliet, Dillon, Ryan, Rory, Gabe, Hunter, and Legend, sisters Paula Tomlinson and Karen Hebert. She was preceded in death by her father Louis Reuther, brother Sidney Jr., and daughter Elissa Jean Guerra. God blessed Lynn’s life with many special people as she served God in her vocations at home, church, work, and in the community. Finally, on September 25, 2015, God blessed Lynn with a holy death and took her home to rest in the arms of Jesus to await the resurrection of the dead. Lynn’s family is especially thankful for the care she received at Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center and MD Anderson, the support received from their church family at St. James Lutheran, and all of those who helped them through Lynn’s difficult journey.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at Ourso Funeral Home of Gonzales from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 from 10:00 am until a Life Celebration Service at 11:00 am. The Lord gives and the Lord takes away; blessed be the name of the Lord. We give thanks to God our Father through Jesus Christ, our Lord, for our sister Lynn.
