Marcelle O'Quain

Marcelle May Mataya O’Quain passed away Friday, October 26, 2018 surrounded by her family at St. Elizabeth Hospital at the age of 88. Marcelle was a parishioner of St. Mark Catholic Church and served as a Eucharistic Minister, was a committed adorer of St. Mark Catholic adoration chapel and member of The Blue Army.

She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Jean O’Quain Adams and fiancé Danny Gomez; 3 sons, Joseph Melvin O’Quain, Jr. and wife Melissa, Keith Anthony O’Quain, Sr. and wife Ella Mae and Darrell Lee O’Quain; 5 grandchildren, Joseph M. O’Quain III and wife Kim, Mark A. O’Quain and wife Jennifer, Tommy W. Adams, Jr. and wife Tricia, Keith A. O’Quain, Jr. and fiancé Victoria Macaluso, Kimberly A. O’Quain Hymel and husband Blake; 9 great grandchildren, Samantha, Sabrina, Ethan, Emma, Evan, Bryce and Reece O’Quain, Abby Adams, Blakely Hymel and 1 step great grandchild, Kaleb Meyers.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Melvin O’Quain, Sr., parents, Alfred Roman Mataya, Sr. and Irma Augusta Melancon Mataya; grand daughter, Tiffany Nicole O’Quain; brothers and sisters, Mercedes Mataya, Alfred Roman Mataya, Jr., Marion Augusta Mataya Folse, Norman Louis Mataya, Gerald Edward Mataya, Raymond Ernest Mataya, James Ellisworth Mataya, Dwight Anthony Mataya and Eva Heneritta Mataya Myrick.

Visitation is scheduled for Friday, November 2, 2018 at Ourso Funeral Home, 13533 Airline Highway, Gonzales from 9AM until a Celebration of Life Service at 11AM, by celebrant Father Rubin Reynolds, with a recitation of the rosary at 10:30AM. Interment will follow at Westlawn Cemetery in Gretna, LA. Pallbearers will be Mark A. O’Quain, Keith A. O’Quain, Jr., Joseph M. O’Quain III, Blake Hymel, Tommy W. Adams, Jr., Victor L. Mann, Sr. and Ethan L. O’Quain.
