Margaret L. Bryant

GONZALES – Funeral Services will be conducted for Dr. Margaret Louise Church Bryant, age 85, at 11:00 am Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at Ourso Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Rentz officiating. Interment will follow at Hope Haven Cemetery in Gonzales. Visitation will be held from 8:30 am until service time on Tuesday.

A native of Kentucky and resident of Gonzales, Mrs. Bryant passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2014.

MawBee was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a tireless worker and the backbone of the family. She was very creative and enjoyed crafting, gardening and spending time with her family and her church.

Mrs. Bryant was a member of the Chiropractic Association of Louisiana and the Union of Chiropractic Physicians. She and her husband were instrumental in pushing for the state of Louisiana to begin licensing Chiropractors in 1974.

She is survived by her daughters, Sandy Dardeau of Gonzales and Linda Palmer of Baton Rouge; grandsons, Keith & Bryan Dardeau; granddaughters, Rebecca Acosta, Rachel Simpson, Dara Blank, Randi Acheson; great-grandchildren, Cody, Brette, Devin, & Savannah Dardeau, Clint & Chase Smiley, Avery Acosta, Stephen, Hannah, Sophie, Aimee, & Colleen Simpson, Alexandra, Max, Ryleigh, Haley, & Mycah Acheson; sister, Laura Marie Dennison and brother, Bob Church.

She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband Dr. James H. Bryant; parents, Curtis and Martha Jordan Church; great-grandson, Christian Blake Acosta; sister, Bertha Jones and brothers, Charles, Edward and Curtis Church, Jr.

Pallbearers will be Keith and Bryan Dardeau, Brad Blank, Todd Acosta, David Simpson and Mackall Acheson. Honorary pallbearers will be Cody Dardeau, Avery Acosta, Clint and Chase Smiley, Stephen Simpson and Max Acheson.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Azalea Estates Assisted Living for the care they have provided over that last few years. Also to Golden Age Nursing Home, Denham Springs, and Gonzales Healthcare.
