Marvin Ray Stephens

Marvin Ray Stephens, age 84, of Prairieville, La passed away on Monday, May 9, 2022 after a battle with cancer and dementia. He graduated from Gonzales High School in 1956. He was a pipefitter and was a member of the Pipefitters Union Local 198. He enjoyed riding his tractor, cutting grass and visiting with family. He is survived by 3 daughters, Tammie Stephens Thomassee (John) of League City, TX., Angie Stephens Minvielle (Brian), and Summer Stephens Kidder (Adam); 3 grandchildren, Marquette Armond (Kris Kierulff) of Austin, TX., Adrienne Thomassee McGregor (Dyllan) of League City, TX., and Tyler Poche’ (Kamryn); 5 great grandchildren, Brody Lee McGregor, Boston Lane Hoyt, Aubrey Anna, Adalyn Yvonne and Evelyn Jaymes Poche; His only brother, Glen Stephens and wife Judy and his aunt Hazel Cook Boudreaux and her family. Marvin loved his girls and told them often how proud he was that they were his. And that he had the best son-in-laws. He was preceded in death by his loving and dedicated wife of 45 years, Patricia Alston Stephens; parents, Milton “Booster” Stephens, and Mary Alice Cook Breaux and Iry J. Breaux; infant daughter, Lorie Jean Stephens; infant sister, Ruth Stephens and father-in-law, Felix Alston of Rose Pine, La. A visitation for Marvin will be held at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, La. on Monday, May 16, 2022 from 12 pm until funeral service at 2pm. He will be laid to rest in Prairieville Community Cemetery. Officiated by his very special friend and pastor, Randle Lowrance, who made a positive mark on his life. Pallbearers will be Troy Stephens, John Thomassee, Brian Minvielle, Adam Kidder, Chad Stephens, and Tyler Poche.
