Mary Ann Gunter

Mary Ann Mitchell Gunter, a native of Poplarville, MS and resident of Prairieville, LA, passed away on Friday, April 29, 2016 at the age of 80. Mary is survived by her daughters, Patricia Lynn Gunter Osborne, and husband, Philip Lyman Osborne, Julie Carol Gunter Owens, and husband William Rex Owens; son, Daniel Lee Gunter, and wife Debra Ann Gendron Gunter; sister-in-law, Margaret Mills Mitchell, wife of Rev. J.C. Mitchell (deceased); brother-in-law, Charles Baugh, husband of Willadene Gunter Baugh (deceased), James H. Gunter, and wife, Gloria Gunter; grandchildren, Justin Philip, and wife Carla Aguilar Gunter, Evin Danielle Gunter McGinley, and husband Brain Aquinas McGinley, Jr., Joshua Rex Owens, Mary Grace Owens, William Caleb Owens. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert Edward Gunter; parents, Edna and Elis Abner Mitchell; grandparents, Cole C. Mitchell and Sarah Moriah Lloyd Mitchell; son, Mitchell Gunter; sisters, Edna Earl Mitchell Leggett, Eunice Marie Mitchell, Sarah Maxine Mitchell, Elaine Mitchell Moody, Eva Nell Mitchell Burgess, Ella Yvonne Mitchell Adams; brothers, Elis Jake “E.J” Mitchell, Rev. James Colin “J.C.” Mitchell, Harry Bryan Mitchell, Rev. William Eugene “Bill” Mitchell. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at Ascension Baptist Church from 9:30 am until a Memorial Service at 10:00 am.
