
Melba Gautreau Thomas, 90, a native and resident of Gonzales passed away Monday, Sept. 3, 2012. She lived many years in Baton Rouge and retired from Wright and Percy Insurance Agency. She was also the past co-owner of Thomas Marine. She is survived by one brother, Carol Gautreau and his wife, Ouida; two sisters-in-law, Lorraine G. Gautreau and Sharla M. Gautreau; as well as two nieces, Renee G. Braud and her husband, Timmy and Tracie G. Waguespack and her husband, Butch; four nephews, Mark Gautreau and his wife, Debbie, Todd Gautreau and his wife, Lynn, Quin Gautreau and his wife, Lydia, and Kyle Gautreau and his wife, Robin. She is also survived by three great-nieces and nine great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles R. Thomas; her parents, Joachim "Blank" and Carrie Braud Gautreau; a sister, Ethelyn Gautreau; two brothers, Harold Gautreau and Leon "Nap" Gautreau; one sister-in-law, Peggy H. Gautreau. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at St. Theresa Catholic Church, Gonzales, from 9:00am to 11:00am with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am. Interment will follow at Hope Haven Garden of Memory Cemetery, Gonzales. Pallbearers will Mark Gautreau, Todd Gautreau, Quin Gautreau, Kyle Gautreau, Timmy Braud and Butch Waguespack.
