Nelda T. Luquette

Nelda Trabeau Luquette passed away on Monday, June 2, 2025, at the age of 84. Nelda was a lifetime resident of Sorrento, Louisiana. She is survived by her sons, Troy (Cindy) Luquette, Brett (Heather) Luquette, and Russ (Wendy) Luquette; grandchildren, Troy Jr (Jalyn) Luquette, Cayde (Lyssa) Luquette, Cydney (Justin) LeBlanc, Jason Luquette, Meagan Elise (Collin) Varisco, Ashlyn (Tony) Brown, and Kaylie Luquette (Jayden Dugas, fiancé); great-grandchildren, Khloe and Maci Luquette, Skylar Cox and Jerry Rouyea, Lakyn and River LeBlanc, Julian Varisco, and Daxton, Taysom, and “Baby” Brown. She also leaves behind a sister, Dianna LeBlanc, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Sidney and Loney Trabeau, her loving husband Larry Luquette, Jr., brothers Clarence Trabeau and John Shelton Trabeau, and sisters Rita Mayers, Mary Ann “Tot” Martinez, and Peggy Duhe. Nelda was very active in her church parish (St. Anne’s in Sorrento) and had a love for outdoors, especially planting in her flower garden and fishing with her husband and boys. But she is best known as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved unconditionally and without measure. The family extends their gratitude to the staff at Francois Bend Senior Living and Hospice In His Care for their caring and dedicated service. Donations can be made to Alzheimer’s Services of the Capital Area. Visitation will be held on Friday June 6, 2025, from 8:30 am until funeral mass at 10:30 am at St. Anne Catholic Church 7348 Main St, Sorrento, LA 70778. Burial to follow at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church Mausoleum 44450 LA-429, St. Amant, LA 70774.
