

Born May 10, 1927 in Boston, Mass., and passed away April 13, 2013 in Gonzales at the age of 85. She was preceded in death by her parents: Howard & Mary Geraghty Byrnes who were from Mass., her husband: Jack Dewitt Austen who was from Gonzales and her brother: Robert Byrnes who was from Mass. She is survived by 1 brother: John Byrnes of Mass., 1 sister: Maureen Byrnes Longtin of Mass., 1 son: Jack Austen, 2 daughters: Patty Austen Theriot (husband Patrick) and Judy Austen Firmin (husband Kenneth), 4 grandsons: Patrick J. Theriot (wife Robyn), Kevin P. Theriot, Stephen P. Frederic & Kyle Austen, 4 granddaughters: Jill M. Theriot Gautreau (husband Sandy), Sandy L. Theriot, Tara Frederic Dearing (husband Daniel) & Julie Firmin Goudeau (husband Derrick), 16 great grandchildren: Patrick L. Theriot, Tyler S. Theriot, Grant M. Theriot, Austin P. Edmonston, Connor J. Gautreau, Justin Dearing, Evan Dearing, Wesley Frederic, Chelsie Gautreau Walters, Laney P. Gautreau, Kaylee N. Gautreau, Macy D. Gautreau, Alexis P. Edmonston, Hannah M. Theriot, Joshua Goudeau & Alexander Goudeau, 2 great great grandchildren: Heidi Walters & Cohen Walters. Patricia was deeply involved in working with the Jambalaya Festival. She was a BLUE SHIRT volunteer and was awarded the Nora Lee Ricca award in 1991 for being the most consistent worker for the Jambalaya Festival Association. She was recognized by Friends of L.P.B. for volunteer work in 1994. She was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church and did volunteer work in various areas. She will be deeply missed by all of her family and friends. Visitation will be held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Prairieville on Tuesday, Apr. 16, 2013 from 9:30 am until a mass of Christian burial at 11:00 am celebrated by Rev. Eric Gyan. Graveside services will follow at 3:00 pm at Holy Savior Catholic Church Mausoleum in Lockport, La. Pallbearers will be Patrick J. Theriot, Kevin P. Theriot, Stephen Frederic, Patrick L. Theriot, Austin Edmonston, Grant M. Theriot, Tyler S. Theriot & Connor J. Gautreau.
