

A devoted husband, loving father and trusted friend, he passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2010. He was 59, owner of the Braud Co., a native of Dutchtown and resident of St. Amant. Visiting will be at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, Thursday, Oct. 21, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting will resume at St. John the Evangelist Church, Prairieville, Friday, Oct. 22, from 9:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Burial to follow in the Prairieville Community Cemetery. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Ranette Brown Braud; daughter, Danyelle Braud; two sons, Travis Braud and Conner Braud; three sisters, Reynelle Bercegeay, Joyce Kling and husband AJ, and Michael "Mickey" Zaitoon and husband Samear; two brothers, John Wayne Braud and wife Nina Jo and Terry Braud and wife Marsha; a special nephew, Tim Braud; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Cotton and Lovey Brown; sisters-in-law and their spouses, Rhonda and Embry Hood and Renee and William Samuel; and a brother-in-law, Rudy Brown. He was preceded in death by his parents, Adam and Enola Babin Braud; and a brother-in-law, Walter Bercegeay. Pallbearers will be Brett Rushing, Curtis Rouyea, Tony Cochran, Kenny Fife, Gregory Cambre, Donald Jones, Alan Matherne, Reeve Barrow and Keith Maddie. He was a member of the original Bac Trac Band.
