Rhonda was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, and friend to many. She passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at her home surrounded by family. She was 58 and a lifelong resident of Geismar. Rhonda is survived by her husband of 39 years, Anthony Babin; two sons, David Anthony Babin and his wife, Wendy and Derek James Babin; brother, Mark Smith; and her grandchildren, Bailey Butler and Hartley Rundell. She was preceded in death by her parents, Terry and Addis Duplessis Smith and a step brother, Thomas R. Fancher, Sr. Visiting will be at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales on Sunday, July 27, 2014 from 6 pm to 9 pm. Visitation resumes at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Prairieville on Monday, July 28 from 9:30 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30, Rev. Jerry Martin officiating. Burial to follow on Oak Lane Memorial Park. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Cardinal Hospice for the compassionate care and attention they provided during this difficult time.
