

Sean David Phillips, a native of Baton Rouge and resident of Prairieville, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at the age of 48. Sean was a kind and loving person who touched the heart, mind, and spirit of everyone he met. He had a friendly and outgoing personality and had the sweetest smile. He lived life to the fullest and never let his long term disability keep him down. Sean enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and daily rides with his father. He also adored visits to the family ranch in Texas and New Mexico. Sean is survived by his loving parents, David and Emily Phillips; brother, Shanon Phillips and April; uncle, Dan Phillips; nieces and nephew, Meghan and Peyton Phillips, Rosemary Phillips Kleinpeter. Sean is preceded in death by his grandparents, Faye and J.E. Phillips and Budd and Pauline Halbrook. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at Ourso Funeral Home of Gonzales from 5:00pm until 8:00 pm. Visitation will resume on Monday, October 30, 2017 at Ourso Funeral Home from 9:00 until funeral services at 10:00 am celebrated by Minister Tamiko Lee. Interment will follow at Friendship Cemetery in Fishville, LA. Gene Edward, Jerry Ducote, Mike Persons, Jody Delaughter, Dwayne Labatut, and Harold Garner will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Dan Phillips and Jim Baldwin. The family would like to give a very special thanks to Dr. Eugene Ramsey and his staff at Ochsner Medical center in New Orleans as well as Ochsner Medical Center in Baton Rouge. A special thanks to Sean’s caretaker, Tamiko Lee, who made his last years comfortable and rewarding. Sean has left his earthly home, but will remain in the hearts of those who loved him forever.
