Shelly Marie Regira

Shelly Marie Regira (59), a resident of Gonzales, LA entered eternal peace on Thursday, May 14, 2026. Born on December 30, 1966, Shelly was a beloved wife, daughter, mother, sister and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She worked as a pre-kindergarten teacher at St. John Primary, where she touched the lives of many children and families throughout her years of service. She had a deep love for babies and family, and will always be remembered for her caring heart, kindness, and dedication to those she loved.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 36 years, David Regira; children, Jenna Regira Janis (David), Mason Regira, Dominick Regira, and granddaughter Juliet Marie Janis; parents, John and Cathy Lanoux, and loving siblings, Stacy Melancon (Doug), Simone Macdonald (Scott), and Jay Lanoux (Erin).

The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Olson, Dr. Stanger, and Dr. Bowie at The NeuroMedical Center of Baton Rouge. Also Pinnacle Hospice nurses Corie, Samantha and Veronica for the compassionate care and support during this difficult time. Also, a special thanks to caregiver, Nicole Frazier.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Theresa Catholic Church,1022 N. Burnside Ave., Gonzales, LA 70737, on Friday, May 22, 2026, with visitation from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and Mass at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at the Mausoleum at Hope Haven on Hwy. 30.
