Shirley Diane Dunn

Our beautiful and wonderful sister, Shirley Diane Dunn, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 19, 2025. Born February 20, 1953 in Lake Charles, LA. Shirley found her true home in Crown Point, IN the summer of 1966. She attended Taft Junior High School, graduated at Crown Point High where she excelled in softball and ladies flag football. A graduate of Indiana University, Shirley never lost or let go of her love of sports. She had a long and illustrious career as an umpire, basketball and volleyball referee later being awarded with admittance to the Lake County Athletic Officials Hall of Fame and Indiana Softball Hall of Fame. Following her beloved Cubs and Bears was one of her delightful passions, as was listening to Blues music and spending time with her esteemed wine club. Her other passion was her love of the Crown Point community having served as an Allstate Insurance Agent for more than 30 years and on the board of the chamber of commerce. With her dear friends, Shirley shared tons of laughter, many joys, a compassionate listening ear, and her heart. She cherished her time with her family making us all feel greatly treasured. She is survived by her four brothers, who miss her already, Jim, Bill, John and Chris; and nine dearest nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her adored partner, Lisa Brown of Indiana; and parents, Bill and Jeanne Dunn of Louisiana. We thank you Shirley for your loving exceptional quality of lifting us all up. Rest well. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at Geisen Funeral, Cremation & Reception Centre, 606 E. 113th Ave., Crown Point, IN 46307 from 1:00 pm until the time of Funeral Service at 3:30 pm. A graveside service for Shirley will be held Friday, May 30, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Prairieville Cemetery, 37577 Duplessis Rd, Prairieville, LA.
