Spencer Byron Ballard

Spencer "Byron" Ballard passed in his home on Sunday, May 10, 2015 with his family by his side. He was a lifelong member of Local 198, avid NASCAR fan and loved his Harley. He is survived by his wife of 27 years and two sons. He is also survived by a sister Connie Laspe and husband, Robert; a brother, Sidney "Snookie" Ballard and wife, Marie and brother, Danny Kirk Ballard and wife, Sue. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews: Laura Higgins and husband, John, APSO David Dykes and wife, Kim, Drew Dykes, Lane Ballard, and wife, Daphnie, Lance Ballard, Lanis and wife, Chris Ballard, Rodney Ballard, Chantelle and husband, Brad Varnado and Misheaux and husband, Chance Rameriz. He was preceded in death by his father S.L. Ballard; mother, Ruby Lee Ballard Bass; brother, James Mallory Ballard. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Ourso Funeral Home of Gonzales. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at Ourso Funeral Home of Gonzales from 9:00 am until service time at 11:00 am celebrated by Fr. Michael Galea.
