Stella Marie Bourgeois Lambert

Stella Marie Bourgeois Lambert, a lifelong resident of the Gonzales community, passed away on Saturday Feb. 16, 2013 after a long battle from Alzheimer's disease. She was born July 3, 1936 in St. Amant, LA. She is survived by her husband of 57 years Huey P. Lambert, her five children, Glenn Lambert & his wife Joanne, Julie LeBlanc, Janet Schneider, Gregg Lambert & his wife Denise and Brad Lambert & his wife Lori, 15 grandchildren, Shelly, Daniel, Lyndsi, Jana, Carlie, Luke, Annie and Eli Lambert, Kendra Creel & husband Louie, Glenda Mora & her husband Blake, Jill LeBlanc, Bobby & Rozie Schneider, Scott Schneider & Courtney Taylor, 13 great grandchildren, Bethany, Abigail, Shay & Bradley Creel, Gabrielle & Mackenzie Mora, Jase, Stevie & Ava Lambert, Tanner & Tucker Musso, Steven & Jeremy Schneider. She also leaves behind her three sisters, Nettie St. Pierre & her husband Leroy, Marilyn Wingerter & her husband Darryl & Katherine Gautreau. She is preceded in death by her parents Daniel Joseph & Elia Myers Bourgeois. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews & dear friends. Stella was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church and was a retired Ascension Parish School employee. She enjoyed working in her garden, crafts, traveling, singing, cooking & dancing, but most of all she loved spending time with her family. She was known as an amazing and loving woman to all that knew her. The family would to thank The Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice and most of all her caregiver and niece, Wanda Gautreau Babin. Visitation will be held at Ourso Funeral Home, 13533 Airline Hwy., Gonzales, on Monday, Feb. 18, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Visitation will resume at St. Mark Catholic Church, Gonzales, on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013 from 9:15 a.m. until Mass of Christian burial at 11:00 a.m. celebrated by Rev. Rubin Reynolds. Burial will follow at Cornerview Cemetery, Gonzales. Revelation 21:4. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.
