Stephen “Steve” Alvin Perry was born on November 28, 1955, in Altoona, Pennsylvania, and passed peacefully into the presence of his Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 5, 2026. Steve spent the past 48 years in Prairieville, Louisiana, where he built a life rooted in faith, family, and community alongside his beloved wife while raising their three children. He is survived by his devoted wife, Deborah Roberts Perry; his daughters, Stephanie Breeden (Buzz) and Jennifer Cook (David); his cherished grandchildren, Hunter Cook, Lynkin Cook, Trace Breeden, and Becca Breeden; and his siblings, Mark Perry (Sandy) and Elizabeth Beaupre (David). He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who were blessed by his kindness and presence. He was preceded in death by his son, Stephen Michael Perry, and his parents, Wallace and Lorraine Perry. Steve was a passionate fan of the LSU Tigers and treasured Saturday nights in Death Valley. He was also a gifted singer who loved sharing his voice with his family, church, and anyone fortunate enough to be within earshot. Above all, Steve’s life was guided by his deep faith and his love for his family. He dearly loved his wife, children, and grandchildren, who have been the biggest joys and loves of his life. Steve valued the friendships he formed with neighbors, coworkers, and the many people whose lives he touched over the years. During his health journey, he was deeply moved by the overwhelming support shown to him and Debbie. Every visit, phone call, text, and prayer meant the world to him, and he treasured the love and compassion shared with him during that time. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the team at Baylor St. Luke’s Hospital in Houston, as well as the many medical professionals who cared for Steve with extraordinary kindness over the past several years. Steve’s life was marked by generosity and hope—he was both an organ recipient and an organ donor, continuing to give even in his passing. Services for Steve will be held Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at St. John the Evangelist Church in Prairieville, Louisiana. Visitation for family will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., followed by public visitation from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 p.m. Burial and a graveside service will follow at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Prairieville.
