Thomas Joseph Ecker

A native of New Orleans and resident of Gonzales, Thomas Joseph “Tom” Ecker passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at the age of 71. Tom was an Air Force Veteran and 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He was an LSU and Saints fan and loved to travel. His grandchildren, to who he was affectionately called Tom Tom, filled his heart with love. He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Lambert Ecker; sons, Edward and Kathy Ecker, Thomas J. Ecker II and Mitchell Settoon, Todd Ecker; stepdaughter, Erica and Earl Moran Jr.; sister, Penny Haynes; brothers, David Ecker, Mark Ecker; and grandchildren, Molly Ecker, Harley Moran and Reid Moran. He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank Joseph Ecker and Louise McLoughlin Miramon; and brothers, Frank Ecker and Karl Ecker. There will be a visitation at Ourso Funeral Home Friday, April 24, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Visitation will resume Saturday, April 25, 2015 at St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church in Gonzales from 9:00 a.m. until a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Eric Gyan, celebrant. Interment will be in Hope Haven Garden of Memory Cemetery in Gonzales. Pallbearers will be Edward Ecker, Thomas J. Ecker II, Todd Ecker, Earl Moran Jr., David DiMaggio, and Scott Monaco.
