Vera Morris Alford, age 99, died peacefully on Sunday, June 6, 2021 at Baton Rouge General Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was a homemaker and a resident of Prairieville, LA. Vera was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Before her health declined, she enjoyed crocheting, crafts and collecting angels. She was born and raised in Brewton, AL where she met her husband, John W. Alford. She was a member of North Brewton Baptist Church in Brewton, AL. They later moved to Louisiana and started a family. She is preceded in death by her husband, John W. Alford, infant son and four brothers.
She is survived by her daughter, Margaret A. Gremillion and her husband Toy Gremillion; loving granddaughter, Angela B. Denham and her husband, Eddie; great grandchildren, Presley Denham, Gracin Denham and Gabriel Denham; sister, Jeanie Normand of Brewton, AL and a host of nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
Family and friends of Vera are invited to attend the Visitation on Thursday, June 10, 2021 from 4pm-8pm at Ourso Funeral Home-Gonzales. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 11, 2021 at 11am at Ourso Funeral Home-Gonzales. Interment: Serenity Oaks-Prairieville, LA.
