Vera White

A loving wife, cherished mother and grandmother, she passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2013. She was 87 and a resident of Geismar. Born in Prairieville to Julius and Winnie Berteau Duplessis on November 18, 1925, she later married Joseph “J N” Nicholas White and had one son. She is survived by her son, Glen Joseph White and wife Brenda; grandchildren, Paul Joseph White, Alex Joseph White and wife, Bambi, Chantelle Matherne, Brandi Lambert and husband Gered; great grandchildren, Nicholas and Jacob White, Andrew and Austin Sanchez, and Jada and Josiah Lambert. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph “J N” Nicholas White, parents, and a great granddaughter, Christina Dixon White. Visiting was held at Ourso Funeral Home on Friday, June 28, 2013. Visiting will resume on Saturday, June 29 from 9 am until religious services in the chapel at 2 pm. Burial to follow in Prairieville Community Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Andrew and Austin Sanchez, Neal Duplessis, Darrell Smith, Troy Pickens and Willie Wyble. She enjoyed watching football, especially the Dallas Cowboys.
