Wesley Mark Blank passed away on Friday, August 27, 2021 at the age of 56. He was born in New Orleans, LA, and he was a resident of St. Amant. Wesley worked as a Process Technician at OxyChem in Geismar, and he was a member of the Local 620 Union.
Wesley is preceded in death by his mother, Ruthnell Tullier Blank; grandparents, Mark and Leona Tullier and Humphrey and Florence Blank; father in law, Robert Templet, Sr. He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife, Gretchen Templet Blank; daughter, Brooke Nicole Blank; sons, Brandon Mark Blank, Brett Michael Blank (Jaclyn), Bryant Mark Blank (Kathryn); grandchildren, Madison, Nathan, Dawson, Charlotte and Audrey Blank; father, Herman V. Blank; sister, Tina Blank Phelps and former brother-in-law, Brian Phelps; brothers, Jeffrey Blank (Uschi), Jason Blank (Shannon); and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Wesley loved sports. He was a permanent team captain for the St. Amant High School Football Team. He held two football records from the 1980s, while playing for the Gators. He loved helping others, and he could fix anything. Wesley enjoyed cooking. Everyone loved his pastalaya and red beans. All who knew Wesley will greatly miss him. The Blank family would love to thank all the doctors and nurses at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center.
Family and friends of Wesley are invited to attend the visitation on Friday, September 10, 2021 from 9:30am-11:30am at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church with a Mass of Christian Burial immediately following. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Wesley’s name to the St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
