

William “Bill” Turner Edwards, a beloved husband, father, son, baseball coach, entrepreneur, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at the young age of 43. He was a graduate of Acadiana High in Lafayette, LA and later attended the University of Southwestern Louisiana at Lafayette. He was a resident of Prairieville and President of Associated Tire Services, Inc.: Jefferson Car Care and Total Tire and Service in Baton Rouge. “Coach Bill” was currently the 8u Rep of Ascension Parish Baseball and enjoyed many years of coaching youth ball. He touched many lives and was very well-respected in the baseball community. One of his biggest passions was being on the field with his two boys and their teammates and teaching them all the game of baseball and life. Bill was a devoted husband and father and will be remembered as a caring, giving person who would do anything for his family and friends.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 15 years, Sharon Granger Edwards, of New Roads, LA, and their two exceptional children, Reed Turner Edwards, 11, and Cameron Price Edwards, 7. He is also survived by his parents, Donald E. and Judy T. Edwards, of Baton Rouge, LA; and his sister, Erin Edwards, of Cincinnati, OH.
A visitation will be held Thursday, August 1, 2013 at CrossPoint Baptist Church, 14965 Airline Hwy, Baton Rouge, from 9 a.m. until religious services at 12 p.m., conducted by Rev. Byron Townsend and Rev. Nick Taylor. Interment will follow in Oak Lane Memorial Park in Prairieville.
Pallbearers will be Dennis Davis, Brady Edmonston, Ben Fritsche, Shane Higdon, Jason Landry, and Kyle Suire. Honorary pallbearers will be Rob Anderson, Dustin “Chops” Albarez, Shane Brister, Davin Duplessis, Tom Garrison, and Bryce Lobell.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made at any Cottonport Bank location in Sharon Edwards’ name. The family would like to thank Dr. John Knapp, as well as the Point Coupee Parish Sheriff’s Office and Emergency Responders. Bill will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
