Wilma Jean Pierson

She was born in Francisco, Indiana, on March 11, 1930, and graduated from Francisco High School. On August 15, 1952, she married the love of her life, Rex. E. Pierson, Jr. Together they built a family rooted in faith, love, and devotion.

A dedicated homemaker, Wilma was also active in her community. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Gonzales and the Order of the Eastern Star. Known for her warm and giving spirit, she had a passion for chocolate, line dancing, travel, and never meeting a stranger. Wilma had a heart for hospitality—she opened her home to her children's friends and to anyone in need, making sure that everyone felt welcomed and cared for.

Wilma is survived by her children: Rex (Chip) Pierson III (Lois) and Susan Arthur (David). She leaves behind cherished grandchildren: Christopher Billot, Mindy Bailey (Michael), Jenny Billot, Heather Pierson, Aubra Billot, Ryker Doskey, Elora Wall (Evan), Heather Tullier (Ben), and Nick Arthur. She was blessed with three great-grandchildren: Mollie Bailey, Mason Bailey, and Penelope Tullier. She is also survived by her sister, Georgia Rogers (Bill), and a host of nieces and nephews, all of whom loved her dearly. Wilma will be remembered for her kindness, her unwavering faith, and her ability to make everyone feel like family.

A visitation for Wilma will be held Friday, September 19, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Ourso Funeral Home, 13533 Airline Hwy, Gonzales, Louisiana 70737. A second visitation will take place on Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Service will begin at 11:00 AM. Wilma will be laid to rest at New River Baptist Church.
