Yvonne lived a life centered on faith, family, and simple joys. She found great pleasure in reading, tending to her flower garden, and watching the hummingbirds that visited her yard. A true New Orleans lady at heart, she loved her coffee—especially CDM coffee and chicory, the only coffee she would drink. Above all, Yvonne cherished her family. She delighted in spending time with them and took special joy in spoiling her grandchildren.
She is survived by her 4 loving daughters, Linda Cantrell, Cheryl Sims, Theresa Costa, and Mary Bordelon (Marvin “Guy”). She also leaves behind 8 grandchildren, Eric (Nicole) Cantrell, Desiree (Philip) Maguire, Cole (Danielle) Cantrell, Justin Sims, Joy Sims, Jeremy (Megan) Costa, Nicole Bordelon, and Deena Bordelon. Her legacy continues through her 9 great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Luke, Morgan, Jacob, Benjamin, Rae Ann, Cate, Collette, and Charlotte, as well as her great-great-grandchildren, Knolan and Kannon. Yvonne was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 56 years, Jerome Musmeci; her parents, Alphonse and Gertrude Buhler Demots; and her siblings, Lorraine Wale, Joseph Demots, and Allen Demots.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 2, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Ourso Funeral Home, located at 13533 Airline Highway in Gonzales, LA. She will be laid to rest at Cornerview Cemetery, 38161 Cornerview Road, Gonzales, LA. Pallbearers will be Eric Cantrell, Cole Cantrell, Jeremy Costa, Justin Sims, Luke Cantrell, Jacob Cantrell, and Philip Maguire.
Yvonne will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her deep love for her family, and the warmth she shared with all who knew her. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those she loved so dearly.
