Simmie "Woody" McLin Jr., a resident of Walker, La passed away on Friday, Nov 10, 2023, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was 53 years old. Woody is survived by his wife, Jennifer Robinson McLin, his mother, Winnie Adele McLin; grandmother, Lea Carpenter; children, Jamie Coombes, Michael Coombes, Courtney Brignac, and Harlyn Bel; grandchildren, Emma Claire, Gavin Coombes, Makenzie Graham, Jordynn Graham, Sierra Doyle, Kyler Coombes, Kaislynn Coombes and Kali Coombes; great grandson, Grayson Graham; sister, Michelle McLin, and brother, Carl McLin (Debra); and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Max Anthony McLin; father, Simmie "Elwood" McLin Sr.; sister, Mary Kilgore and grandfather, Horace Blount. Services for Woody will be held on Thursday, Nov 16, 2023, at Christ Community Church, Juban Rd, Denham Springs, La. Visitation will be from 9 am until the funeral at 11 am conducted by Bro Willis Easley. Pallbearers will be Elliott Steptoe, Chester "Bam" Honeycutt, Jeremy Pookie" Richardson, Mychael Kitszmiller, Carl McLin Sr., Bart Hall, and Honorary Pallbearer Kurt Dempsey, and Carl McLin Jr. He will be laid to rest next to his son Max at Colyell Community Cemetery.
