Paulita Flores

Funeral Mass is under the direction of Buffington Funeral Home in Gonzales, Texas and will be held on Friday, January 6, 2017 at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Gonzales, Texas with Father Paul Raaz officiating. Interment will follow at Saint James Catholic Cemetery in Gonzales, Texas. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at 7:00 pm at the Buffington Funeral Home Chapel with Timothy Decker officiating.

Paula was born in Gonzales, Texas on February 7, 1928. She was the daughter of Cruz and Beatrice (Orneales) Cardenas. She worked for the schools in the cafeteria. Paulita married Refugio Flores, Sr. on January 1, 1946 in Seguin, Texas. She loved her family and the large family gatherings that they had. She cared for her three Chihuahua dogs named Smoky, Princess, and Peanut. She liked to watch soap operas and the Atlanta Braves Baseball Team on TV. She liked going to garage sales. Paula was known as “Mama Bingo” because of her playing bingo daily no matter what the weather was doing. She liked scratch off tickets.

Paula is survived by four sons; Refugio “Cookie” Flores, Jr. of Bryan, Texas, Ralph Flores and his wife, Vicki of Austin, Texas, Richard Flores, Sr. of Austin, Texas, Roel Flores, Sr. of Round Rock, Texas, four daughters; Linda Ramos of Gonzales, Texas, Rosie Flores of San Marcos, Texas, Rebecca Flores of Round Rock, Texas, Rita Flores of Round Rock, Texas, thirty-eight grandchildren, one hundred forty-eight great-great grandchildren, and many great-great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years; Refugio Flores, Sr., two sons; Ruben Flores, Ray Flores, Sr., two brothers; Cruz Cardenas, Jr., Jesse Cardenas, Sr., two sisters; Mary Sandavol, Connie Urias, two grandchildren; Lori Flores, Raynaldo Flores, and one great-grandson; Manuel Govea.

Pallbearers for Mrs. Flores will be; Russ Flores, Christopher Joe Ramos, Jimmy Lee Proa, Ralph Flores, Jr., Adrian Flores, Joe Leal, Jr., Roel Flores, Jr., and Raynaldo Flores, Jr. Honorary Pallbearer will be Darius DeMarco Hamilton.
