She'll definitely be missed. A great voice and smile. Why does bad things happen to good people?

Cheryl and I were friends back in high school and I'm so sorry that we lost touch over the years but from what others have said I can tell that she never lost her infectious laugh and welcoming smile. My heart breaks for her family. You will all be in my prayers. I was blessed to call her my friend.

Cheryl was an incredibly sweet person.  For someone so petite, she had a huge heart, talent & personality.  She will sadly be missed by so many & remembered fondly.

It is with great sadness for us to learn of your loss. Cheryl was a beautiful person, with contagious laugh and the voice of an angel.  It is difficult to understand why such hardship befalls us, when those we love, are taken so early in their lives. Hopefully the below passage will comfort you during the most difficult time. Though I haven't seen you and Vince since you worked with my band at my brother's wedding in Chicago in 1992, I have often remembered fondly your great voice and lovely personality. By coincidence(?), I swear you popped into my head just last week! This is all so very sad for the living, but you are in a better place now, so God bless you and receive your spirit..

I am Richard & Jenelle Birk's oldest daughter, Lisa. Cheryl, my younger brother David, and other cousins, Laura & Katherine all had their birthdays within months of each other. When we were growing up in California, I can remember several times we would combine their birthdays. We would enjoy so much being together, getting all dressed up and playing games and having lots of food. It saddens me, as the years went by, that we lost touch and weren't able to get together as much. But our families and love are eternal and we know that she is with our Heavenly Father. Cherish those memories and fun times you had with her, as she will always be in your hearts. My thoughts and prayers are with you, Bill & Cristina.

Dear Vince and Family:
I don't have much to add to what others have already said. (I "ditto" what Scott Birk has already shared. Scott is my oldest brother. I am Richard's (Diana's brother) youngest daughter. I will always remember the last time I heard Cheryl talking with her Mom. I was in Las Vegas visiting Diana. How fun it was to talk about "girl" stuff and my favorite singer, Barry Manilow. In her perfect voice, we sang some "Barry" songs together and just had the best laugh. Then, Diana told Cheryl she was taking me to Trader Joe's - a place I had never experienced. Cheryl told Diana about a new frozen dinner and how many wonderful "figure-friendly" foods they had available for purchase. It was great!! Like Scott, I wish we had been able to be together more often. I send my heartfelt wishes to you at this difficult time. I understand, having lost a nephew in February and also my older brother David 13 years ago -- (David was only 6 months older than Cheryl in age). I truly believe that Cheryl's spirit lives on and one day all of us will be reunited once again. Please try to keep this hope in your heart. I will be waiting to give you big hugs on Tuesday. Dear Vince and Family,

As one of Cheryl's cousins, I remember her from our growing up years in California when our families would get together for holidays and other get-togethers. Her energy made her the life of the party as I remember her always playing the part of an actress of one kind or another. She was always so happy. I treasure those memories and I'm sorry that we lived so far apart as adults. We just recently lost a son of our own, so I know this is a most difficult time. But, please know that Cheryl is now with her Heavenly Father and that she will continue to love you and your family and she'll be as close as she can be. She'll watch over you all and I know that there will be a grand reunion someday when we will all be together again. God bless you all.

Cheryl was an amazing person.  I have never meet anyone like her.  The memories I have are wonderful and hysterical, the Kiss concert, Freddy vs Jason, just to name two.
