He was born in Waverly, Tennessee on Nov 2, 1925 as the youngest of three children. He joined the Navy in January 1944, and proudly served in WWII. He returned to Nashville following his service and retired from Ford Glass plant. He was an avid motorcyclist which started with Indian Motorcycles and ended with Harley Davidsons. He rode for more than 70 years. During his retirement he was able to do what he loved, tinkering with clocks, lawn mowers, weed eaters and chain saws.
Even though he is no longer with us, his legacy lives on through his family and friends.
He was lucky enough to find two wonderful women to marry. Mattie Louise and Delores Jean, both of which preceded him in death.
He is survived by two sons, Jim (Linda) and Rick (Karen), and two daughters, Barbara (Tom-deceased) and Diane (Ken). His oldest son Paul (Gloria,) preceded him in death. All sons and sons-in-law were veterans as well as some grandsons.
Dallas leaves behind four generations of loving families including 13 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 19 great great grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews. He was blessed with a large extended family of step children, grandchildren and great grandchildren that he loved and treated as his own.
