Born to the late Eugene and Mattie (Bass) Phillips, David is also preceded in death by his loving wife Alice; his brother Richard Phillips and his sister Betty Jean Davis. He is survived by his sons Mark Phillips and David Phillips; sister-in-law Carlene Phillips; (7) nieces and nephews, as well as many other beloved family and friends.
David was born and raised in Nashville and went to work straight out of high school for Washington Industries. He was diligent in his work and dedicated to his family. Devoted to his faith, David was a member of Grace Baptist Church for many years. He loved fishing, Tennessee football and working with wood. David was well known in his community for his residential-painting skills and was employed often for this expertise. He took great care of his family and was a trusted friend to many. David will be dearly missed, but never forgotten.
A visitation for David will be held Tuesday, March 14, 2023 beginning at 11:00am thru 2:00pm, with a chapel funeral service to begin at 2:00pm and interment to follow; all at Forest Lawn Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 1150 South Dickerson Road, Goodlettsville, TN 37072.
