Dorothy Helen Willis, age 85 passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2024. Dorothy was born in Monday, June 5, 1939 Nashville, Tennessee. She is preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Dorothy Detchon Newlin, husband of 62 years, Joseph Elzie Willis; brother, Alvin Newlin.
Helen is survived by her son, Dan (Vickie) Willis; grandson, Jordan (Maricar) Willis; great-grandson, Joseph Harold Willis; niece, Janet Newlin Kappa; nephew, Jeff Newlin.
Helen retired from Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with family.
The family would like to thank the staff of Alive Hospice for their care and compassion. The family asks that any memorial donations be directed to Alive Hospice.
A family graveside service for Dorothy will be held Thursday, August 8, 2024 at 10:00 AM in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Garden of Love, 1150 South Dickerson Road, Goodlettsville, TN 37072.
