Emma Elizabeth Cox age 97, born October 29, 1922 in Cleveland, Ohio to Elizabeth (Betty) Takacs and Ivan E Burkley entered eternal rest on August 12, 2020 at hospice in Gallatin, Tennessee after a brief illness.
She was always full of life and loved people, and everyone that met her was rewarded with the blessing of being around her light and smile. She enjoyed working for many years at Sue's Hallmark in Rivergate Mall until she retired. In her later years, she always missed working, and missed the independence that has to be given up as we get older. She was deeply cherished by all her family and friends, and she returned that love completely and unconditionally. She will be so deeply missed by everyone, especially her daughter, who has been blessed to be her caregiver for several years, even though she still wanted to do everything for herself. We take some comfort in knowing she is no longer sick and is at peace, and that she has been reunited with her loving husband of almost 43 years, Harold Cox, who preceded her in death. Preceded in death by her sister, Margaret (Frank) Drake, and brother, George (Margaret) Burkley.
Emma is survived by her loving daughter, Tami Cox; son, Robert (Sharon) Longdon; 3 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren ( and one on the way) nieces and nephews and sister-in-law Carolyn (Stanley) Bingham.
