Herschel H. Pardue

PARDUE, Herschel Haynes "Bob"Age 88 of Smyrna, died on Friday, April 01, 2011 after an extended illness. Born October 19, 1922. Mr. Pardue served in World War II as a paratrooper in the U.S. Armed Forces 11th Airborne Division from 1942-1946. He attended Isaac Litton High School and David Lipscomb University. He worked in the hotel business as a Manager for many years. Mr. Pardue was very proud to have been recently published in the book, "The Hermitage at One Hundred". He was a member of the Rivergate Church of Christ. Mr. Pardue is preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Marcus and Bill Cuzzort; brothers, James "Buddy" Pardue and Jack Pardue. He is survived by Betty R. Pardue; children, Merry Carol (Sid) Rudin, Stan (Martha) Pardue, Harold (Karen) Griggs, Cindy Ounan, David Pardue, Sue (Joe) Earnest, and Lora (Preston) Sweeney; grandchildren, Lynn (Rick) Norton, Charles (Kara) Kimbrough, John Kimbrough, David (Dara) Kimbrough, Stan Pardue, Jr., Bryan Pardue, Joe (Kara) Knox, Danielle DuPree; several great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and faithful puppy, "Buddy". A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1 p.m. at the Forest Lawn Mausoleum on Tuesday, April 5, 2011. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday from 5-8 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home.
