Jim was a devoted family man who spent his life caring for his three daughters and eleven grandchildren. The happiness and stability of his family were of the utmost importance to him, and his efforts were devoted entirely to their joy and fulfillment.
Jim served as a police officer with the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department and retired after thirty years of dedicated service. He especially enjoyed his assignment to the MNPD’s K-9 Unit and excelled in organizing and conducting public presentations that introduced the work of these officers to the public.
As a longtime member of Grace Baptist Church, Nashville, Jim volunteered for many years as a trusted member of the security team protecting the safety of families during worship.
The Green family expresses their sincerest gratitude to family members and friends, including the Grace family, for their many acts of kindness and countless prayers over the past five months. We would like to especially thank dear friends Bill Satterfield and Tommy Escue, who watched over our every need and selflessly devoted many hours to comfort their lifelong friend and his family.
Finally, we praise God for His mercy and comfort throughout this journey. We ask His blessing on each person joining us today to remember James Horace Green, our husband, father, brother, uncle, and granddaddy.
A Memorial service will be conducted 3 pm Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Dr. Fred E.A. Johnson & Dr. Roger P. Freeman officiating.
