Born in Hornbeak, TN to the late Sam and Mammie (Brown) Green, Leon is also preceded in death by his daughter Leona and his sister Allie Jean; brothers Wilburn Green and Billy Green. He is survived by his devoted wife of 20 years, Hazel; his daughter Jennifer; brother Sam; several nieces, nephews, other beloved extended family and dear friends.
Leon proudly served his country in the United States Army and stationed in Germany for some time before returning home. He loved to travel, especially to the Great Smoky Mountains and Gatlinburg, TN, and being outdoors in nature riding his 4-wheeler. Leon loved country-style home cooked meals, watching westerns on TV and sharing his wonderful stories. He was genuinely funny and never met a stranger. We will dearly miss Leon and cherish the sweet memories made with him.
A visitation for Leon will be held Wednesday, January 31, 2024 from 4pm - 8pm and again on February 1st from 12pm - 2pm, with a funeral chapel service to begin at 2pm, all at Forest Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 1150 South Dickerson Road, Goodlettsville, TN.
