

Lonnie Adams, Jr. age 84, passed away Friday, February 22, 2019. He was born in McMinnville, Tennessee Tuesday, December 25, 1934. He is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Mary Frances Tupper Adams; parents, Etta Winnett and Lonnie Adams; sister, Evelyn Josephine Harwell; brothers, Clyde Edward Adams, Bryson Lee Adams and Earl Thomas Adams.
Mr. Adams served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. In 2018, at the age of 83, Lonnie was presented the Challenge Coin from the 18th Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps Ronald L. Green while in Washington, DC. He was the Foreman and an Electrical Technician of Allied Sound Inc. Lonnie enjoyed studying the Bible; reading, inventing and spending time with family.
He is survived by his daughter, Mary Jean Adams; sisters, Joyce Wilburn, Glenda Faye Walker; grandson, David Phillip Stephens; great-granddaughters, Ashley Victoria Stephens and Brianna Leigh Jones.
A celebration of life will be conducted 1:00 Thursday, February 28, 2019 in the chapel of Eastland Funeral Home. Burial with military honors will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Family and friends will gather to remember Mr. Adams at a visitation Wednesday, February 27, 2019 from 2:00 until 8:00 at Eastland Funeral Home 904 Gallatin Ave. Nashville, Tennessee 37206
