Margaret was born on April 27, 1950, the fourth of seven children.
She married her husband, Elvis, in 1969 and together they welcomed their daughter, Devin. Margaret later graduated from TSU with her BSN, fulfilling her dream of becoming a registered nurse.
Margaret’s life was marked by devotion to her family, both immediate and extended. She loved all the children in her family as her own and enjoyed spoiling them all. She was always up for shopping, especially at TJ Maxx and eating out, particularly at Cracker Barrel. Margaret had a love for life and you felt it anytime you were with her. She was known for her fun and outgoing personality, her love for those around her, and her sense of humor.
Margaret loved cruising with her husband and they enjoyed over 40 cruises together. She also loved going to the mountains with her family and girls trips with her sister. She loved art, particularly Caribbean prints she picked up while cruising. She had a passion for photography and shared her work with her family. She enjoyed collecting both old quilts and cameos.
Above all, she loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed family dinners and was always ready for an adventure. She was persistent in saying, “I love you more” and that love was felt wholeheartedly. Her love and kindness will forever be her legacy and she will remain in the hearts of all who loved her.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Atha and Louziller Hartley, and her brothers, Roger and Robert Hartley. She is survived by her husband, Elvis Moore; her daughter, Devin Centonze; her brothers, Billy (Barbara) Hartley, Gene (Ann) Hartley, and Roney Hartley; her sister, Lisa Wilson; honorary sister Patty Patterson; her nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews, whom she loved as her own; her beloved dog, Boogie; and many other treasured family members.
