Mary Elizabeth "Mrs. D" Deaderick, age 95, of Goodlettsville, Tennessee passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2024. Mrs. D was born Monday, January 21, 1929 in Nashville,Tennessee and is preceded in death by her mother, Nellie Allen Ragan; father, Gay Lemuel Ragan; husband, Embree Howard Deaderick and three brothers.
A member of Union Hill Baptist Church for more than 50 years, Mrs. D held many positions, served on committees, was Director of WMU and director of the children's department. She was a bookkeeper for Harvey's Department Store and also worked for the Methodist Publishing House. She worked as a volunteer in the cafeteria of Union Hill Elementary School; a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader.
Mrs. D is survived by her children, Jennie (Thomas) Newbern, Billy (Kimberly) Deaderick, Annie (Jeff) Guy; grandchildren, Crystal Whittle, Chris Newbern, Alex Guy and numerous great-grandchildren.
Family and friends will gather at a visitation for Mrs. D held Monday, August 19, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home.
A celebration of life will be held Monday, August 19, 2024 at 12:00 PM in the chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Rev. Jason Snider and Rev. Mike Mayo officiating.
Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Garden of Our Savior; serving as pallbearers will be, Billy Deaderick, Jeff Guy, Thomas Newbern, Chris Newbern, Dan Whittle and Alex Guy.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Union Hill Baptist Church 1301 Union Hill Road Goodlettsville, TN 37072 in Memory of Mary Deaderick.
