Neal "Cornbread" Darrell Stone

Neal "Cornbread" Darrell Stone, age 38, of Cedar Hill , Tennessee passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2025. Cornbread was born Thursday, November 27, 1986 in Springfield, Tennessee. He preceded in death by his grandparents, Joyce (Meme) and Jack (Pa) Kaeser.

A butcher for Jack's Bar B Que on Lower Broadway in downtown Nashville, Cornbread enjoyed music, the outdoors, smoking food, grilling, fishing and he was the laugh of the party, never meeting a stranger; gave the best teddy bear hugs and being with his family.

Cornbread is survived by his wife, Crystal Phelps; daughters, Abigail Gilley, McKinlee Stone, Dixie Mae Stone; son, Damian Downing; mother, Stacy Kurz; father, Billy Ray Stone; brother, Billy Ray Stone, III; step-sister, Kyleigh Bly; step-brother, Matthew Bly; grandparents, Sandra and Charles Woods; aunt, Virginia Fox; uncles, Kenny Owen, Neal Stone, Rickey Stone, Mike Wood and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Cornbread will be held Thursday, March 6, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1150 S. Dickerson Pike, Goodlettsville, Tennessee.

A celebration of life will be held Friday, March 7, 2025 at 2:00 PM. in the chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Carter officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be, Billy Ray Stone, III, Damian Downing, Halen Scott, Nick Dugan, Matt Bly, Arthur Shannon, Donald Wayne Ellis, Dannjiell Charlton.

Burial will follow in the Garden of Music Row at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
