Norma Jean Dawson, age 94, of Nashville, Tennessee passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2023. She was born Sunday, December 30, 1928 in Vandalia, Illinois and is preceded in death by her parents, Archie and Waive Blankenship Roe; her husband, Willard Dawson; her son Steve Dawson; brother, Harold Roe; grandchildren, Jessica Dawson and Gina Noffsinger.
A member of Faith Baptist Church, and a retired elementary school teacher, Mrs. Dawson enjoyed gardening, sewing, reading and her church.
Surviving are her children, Deborah (Ralph) Stinson and Ronald Dawson; her 11 grandchildren, Penny Dawson, Michelle (Isaac) Kilpatrick, Christina Stinson, Lisa (David) Lynn, David Stinson, Phillip Collier, Brenda (Lynn) Smart, Randy Stinson, Shane Dawson, Tina (Rob) Ward, Diane (Chad) Mabry; her 30 great-grandchildren, Christopher Taylor, Jonathan Taylor, Selyena Stinson, Marcus Powell, Ryan Powell, Jacob Peachey, Randy Stinson, Jr., Brandon Stinson, Heather Stinson, Nick Reeves, Nate Reeves, Blake Dawson, Teresa Graves, Kimberly Lynn, Ashley Lynn, Amber Linzy, Dallas Mabry, Adam Mabry, Jack Mabry, Caleb Ward, Brianna Borrack, Amber Sparbel-Connor, Desiree Dawson, Patience Kuiper, Trey Collier, Madison Collier, Boston Collier, Chaysten Dies, Jeyland Dies and Takoda Roberts.
A visitation for Norma will be held Sunday, July 2, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1150 South Dickerson Road, Goodlettsville, Tennessee.
A Celebration of Life will occur Monday, July 3, 2023 at 10:00 AM in the chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Bro. B R Johnson officiating.
Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Serving as pallbearers will be Isaac Kilpatrick, David Lynn, David Stinson, Christopher Taylor, Phillip Collier, Dallas Mabry, Chad Mabry and Rob Ward.
