Paul West Franklin

Paul West Franklin - age 74 of Hendersonville, passed away Wednesday December 7, 2011 at his home surrounded by his loving family at his bedside. He was born Thursday September 16, 1937 in Defeated Creek, TN son of the late Homer Carr and Mattie West Franklin. Paul was preceded in death by a sister, Ellen Owens.

He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 53 years, Clara Catherine Singer Franklin, along with their daughters, Tammy (Teddy) Adams, Cathy (Joe) Weaver, Connie (John) Allison; grandchildren, Tara, Tiffany, Brennan, Hunter, Keaton and Cobey; eight great-grandchildren; brother Edwin Franklin.

Mr. Franklin graduated from Hume-Fogg in 1956; served in the US Army from March 23, 1958 through March 24, 1960. Decorated: Marksman, Sharpshooter, and Good Conduct Medal; served in the Army Reserves until 1964.

He was employed by the Metro Fire Department from 1962 to 2001 when he retired as Fireman/EMT Captain; employed with International alliance of Stage Employees, Union Local #46 and worked with Johnny Cash Show, CMA Awards, and many others during his 25 years as Nashville Entertainment Services production crew.

Visitation will be today Thursday December 8, 2011 from 4:00 until 8:00 with funeral services Friday December 9, 2011 at 12:00 with visitation one hour prior. Paul Hancock officiating.
