Roberta Owens

Born to the late Asa and Altie (Helton) Williams, Roberta is also preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Herman "Rusty" Owens, their daughter Sharon Owens; grandson Terry Owens, Jr.; sister Dorothy Ray and her husband Frank. She is survived by her son Terry Owens (Edie); grandchildren Kristi Condon (Jeff), Julie Wright (Danny); three great-grandchildren Eryn Wright, Cason Smith, Sloane Wright; nephew Randall Ray (Lynn), as well as other beloved extended family and dear friends.

Roberta was a retired payroll specialist for the Tennessee governor's office, which was an uphill climb from her very first job at Woolworth's and with Geny's Flower shop after she and Rusty were married. Her spunky style and sassy nature were unforgettable. She had a vivaciously bold personality, was quick-witted and got straight to the point in her conversations. She loved to shop, knit, crochet, play cards with her canasta club and enjoyed life to the fullest. Roberta most enjoyed spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. She was a member of Community Church of Hendersonville, where she was involved in life group and women’s girlfriend groups.

A graveside service in the Garden of Love, will be held on Monday, June 26, 2023 beginning at 11am with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 1150 S. Dickerson Pike Rd., Goodlettsville, TN.
