Larry and I served with Roger at Long Hollow in the baptistery. He was truly a man of God. He was so concerned about everyone having a relationship with Jesus. He was kind, thoughtful and always there holding a hand if you needed anything. He visited Larry in the hospital and prayed with us. I’ll never forget his God loving ways.  We miss you here on Earth but celebrate you are in Heaven with your savior.

Roger was such a great guy. We got a certificate to renew our marriage vows and we brought it into Roger when he worked at Long Hollow to be a witness on it. He prayed over it and us and witnessed it for us. So even though Roger is gone, his signature hangs in our dining room. We loved him!!

My heart hurts with this loss. Roger was there for me since day one when moving in with Ron and Francine Daniels and was always another father to me. There are more memories than one to even share. From crawfish boils to beach trips. I will miss his spirit and love for life, but he loved his savior and I know he’s dancing in Heaven today.

I'm so sorry for your loss of this wonderful man. He helped me through some really tough times and I'll be forever grateful for his support and compassion. He loved his family so much! I remember any time we met, if his phone would ring and it was his family, he would apologize and answer the call just to make sure they were ok and then would ask if he could call them back. I think that's part of the character of who he was!

May he rest in peace and may his family be surrounded and comforted knowing he ran the race well and won the ultimate prize.

I’ve known Roger since grammar school. We grew up as best friends. We played together and fought each other. We got the boxing gloves out many times and always were friends when the day was over. I wish we were closer in adulthood.
Roger will be missed by so many. I pray for peace for all his family.

My wife and I so loved this man. Roger invited us into their life group back in 2018. I was so very blessed to have participated in “Experiencing God” classes as well as “Disciple’s Prayer Life” classes that Roger hosted and taught over the years. He poured his love, biblical wisdom and passion for Christ into me and so many other men in our community. Barbara and Roger have defined to us how a Christian couple should live their lives. Even though he taught us all well, he showed us by example how it’s done. Leslie & I will be forever grateful for his compassion, mentoring and kindness. Truly a life well lived. Thank you Roger for being my friend and brother in Christ.

Roger was a mentor to me and many others. Of coarse I will always treasure our in home bible study of Experiencing God. The 13 week study took us over 2 years meeting once a week. He poured his time and knowledge into four of us. Forever grateful for knowing him.

Roger was instrumental to helping my wife and I through pre-marrital counselling. We have no idea how we could make it without his wise biblical counseling. One thing we learned from our time with him is that he loved people, spoke truth into our lives, loved his wife and loved Jesus. 

We are all blessed by his life and will see him again soon.

I was privileged to have Roger in two separate times during my childhood. In elementary school, I knew him as our fun and kind neighbor who was always happy to have all the crazy neighborhood kids over to play in the front yard. He was always quick with praise and help when someone was struggling with skill level. I remember just being genuinely welcome and wanted. After we moved and I went to high school, I stumbled into Long Hollow Student Ministry. There was Roger as an integral part of that amazing youth team we were all so fortunate to have guiding us through the confusing teen years. Again, so welcoming and kind and had a scripture for any occasion or question. Never judgmental, but always challenging me to be a better young man and Christian. He was the boiler plate standard of a man’s man. Strong and kind and wise and loving. Roger has touched and reached innumerable hearts and minds both young and old in his time on the earth. The “Elliot Nation” reaches much farther than you fortunate ones to have had him as patriarch all these years. I love y'all and rejoice with you, though it is bittersweet, that the Lord’s good and faithful servant has gone to be by his Savior’s side. You will be missed and cherished Roger Elliot.

Your family reached out to our family when we moved to Hendersonville in 1986. We have a lot of wonderful memories that we will always treasure. Roger was very dear to us and we will miss him so much. Praying for the family as you walk life without him….until we all meet again in heaven some sweet day.  Love, Tommy  and Laura

We have known Roger for many years and he was one of the kindest, compassionate, and loving of people man that we have ever known.
His legacy will live on with the many lives he has touched. I know he has his crown in Glory and doing great things for the Lord.  So proud to have called him our friend. Blessings and peace to the family.
