She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Sally B. Cook; her beloved husband, Murray Buck Freeman; her daughter, Judy Freeman Smith; and her brother, Oscar Doyle Cook, and his wife, Cecilia Cook.
She is survived by her devoted nephews, Randy Cook (Colleen) and Wayne Cook (Charlene), as well as her grandsons, Tony Smith and Darnell Smith III.
Ruby dedicated her career to C.B. Ragland Food Distribution before enjoying a well-earned retirement, during which she expressed her creativity and passion through painting and sewing. She will be remembered for her artistry, warmth, and the joy she brought to those around her.
The family invites friends and loved ones to celebrate Ruby’s life and honor her memory. Service details will be shared at a later time.
