Mr. Smith worked as an Information Systems Analyst for the State of Tennessee, A member of Valley View Baptist Church he is survived by his wife of 44 years Carolyn Jones Smith; son Thomas O. Smith, Jr.; daughter Carol Smith and partner Angie Smith; grandson Benjamin Thomas Smith; brothers James Ralph Smith and Arthur Hubert Smith, Jr.
Funeral services will be 10:00 Wednesday, August 8, 2012 in the chapel of Forest Lawn with Dr. John Farrar and Dr. Ernest Standerfer officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Serving as pallbearers are Jim Pridy, Phil Smith, Joe Seignthaler, David Griffin, Mike Overcash, Larry Link, Rick Carillon, and Ray Lincoln. Honorary are Deacons and Fisherman Class of Valley View Baptist Church and Dr. R. B. Gaston, Jr.
Family and friends will gather to remember Mr. Smith at a visitation Tuesday, August 7, 2012 from 2:00 until 8:00 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home 1150 Dickerson Rd. Goodlettsville, TN.
