Thomas “Tommy” William Steely, age 71, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2026 at 1:15 PM, surrounded by his children.

He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Amber Voss, Christian Moyers, Hannah Curtis (White), Caleb Whitley, Aiden Steely, and Trevor Kane; as well as his great-grandchildren, Dakota and CJ Curtis.

Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, Burt Leon Steely and Alice Faye Steely (Bush); his siblings, Jacqueline Hulan, Burt Steely, and Ricky Steely; and his beloved granddaughter, Faith Morris.
Tommy was a talented Master Carpenter who left his mark all over Middle Tennessee. Riding through town with him was never just a drive, it was a tour of his life’s work. With a quiet pride and a knowing smile, he would point out buildings along the way and say, “I built that building.” And he did. His craftsmanship, work ethic, and dedication quite literally helped shape the community around him.
He was a proud alumnus of Hendersonville High School and loved his football family deeply, carrying those memories and connections with him throughout his life.
Known for his humor, Tommy also went by the nickname “Tom Teely,” a name that never failed to get a laugh and perfectly captured his lighthearted spirit.
Tommy will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His strength, his stories, and the legacy he built both in wood and in family will live on for generations.
And if there’s one thing we know for sure, it’s that he’s already found a microphone and is singing karaoke in heaven.
The family looks forward to celebrating his life with friends and loved ones in the near future
