The son of William H Rourke Jr and Evelyn Rourke, he served with honor in the United States Air Force, contributing to the defense of his country. Following his military service, Bill retired from the US Postal Service as an Electronic Technician after 42 years of devoted service.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 30 years, Sharon Rourke, and their three sons: Travis (Katrina), Nicholas (Kara), and Brad (Meredith). Bill leaves behind a legacy through his grandchildren, Xander, Sophia, Lillian, Dominic, Asher, and Jude. He is also survived by his 7 brothers, 2 sisters, and his mother, Evelyn.
To his children and grandchildren, Bill was more than a man — he was their superhero, imparting wisdom and strength. A man of diverse interests, he found joy in beekeeping, fishing, and cherished moments with his family. Psalm 23 held a special place in his heart, reflecting his spiritual connection.
In honor of Bill's memory, the family requests that, instead of flowers, donations be made to Alive Hospice of Nashville, Tennessee.
His life, marked by love, shared passions, and his role as a superhero, will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
