Benjamin Douglas Spoon was born on January 15, 1982, and passed away on April 10, 2026, at the age of 44. A resident of Goodyear, Arizona, Benjamin will be remembered for the steady, meaningful way he moved through life—meeting others with genuine warmth, and leaving behind a legacy shaped by faith, purpose, and love.
Spoon spent his formative years in California and Texas, years that helped shape the grounded and open-hearted man so many came to know. He began his family when he was only 15 years old, stepping early into a role that would remain central to his life and identity.
In his professional life, Spoon dedicated 20 years as a service manager. Through that work, he became known not only for reliability and skill, but for the way he invested in people—patiently guiding, encouraging, and mentoring others with a generosity of time and spirit.
On August 11th, 2001, Spoon married Teresa Spoon, and together they built a life marked by devotion and shared purpose. The family moved to Louisiana in 2006, and in the years that followed, Spoon and Teresa created a wonderful life full of traveling, friends, family, extended family, and so many experiences. He loved his wife dearly until the end; their love story was just that—a real love story.
Spoon loved life and lived it to the fullest. He was kind, intentional with every interaction, and he carried the conviction that every relationship mattered. He never met a stranger, and his laughter and spirit could fill a room. He had a gift for lifting others up, reminding them how special God made them, and his faith led him and his family through all trials in life. Always willing to help, he offered steady support and sincere encouragement, leaving people better for having known him.
Spoon is survived by his wife, Teresa Spoon; his daughter, Keisha Spoon; his son, Joshua Spoon; his brother, Mac Dotson; his mother, Marla Duck; and his two grandchildren, Eli and Aubree Spoon. He was preceded in passing by his daughter, Makala Spoon; his father, Wayne Spoon; and his brother, Daniel Spoon.
The world lost a bright light with Spoon’s passing, but the love he gave, the faith he lived, and the strength he offered so freely will remain—carried forward by the family and friends who will always hold him close.
