He went on to become a commercial and industrial sales representative for the western division, retiring as a senior customer service representative on April 30, 1990, after a 39-year career. In addition to his work with the Boy Scouts, Lou held leadership roles in the local Kiwanis Club, the Red Cross, the Tri-City Chamber of Commerce, and the local YMCA. He was also involved in
the Billy Moore Days Celebration committee. Lou’s love for life earned him the childhood nickname “Long, Lean, Lanky Lou,” a name he embraced with joy. He loved sitting outside on bright, sunshiny days to bask in the warmth of the sun. Lou is survived by his children, Alison Gray Murphy and Jeffrey Lee Gray; four
grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
